Not Medical or Professional Fitness Advice
The Running Pace Calculator, Running Calorie Calculator, Race Time Predictor, Couch to 5K Planner, Stroller Pace Adjuster, and Run/Walk Interval Calculator produce general estimates and training heuristics, not a professional assessment. They are not a substitute for a doctor’s advice, a physiotherapist’s guidance, or a qualified coach, and they don’t diagnose, treat, or resolve any medical condition. JogMom is not a coaching service. If you have an injury, a medical condition, or any doubt about whether running is right for you, get advice from a qualified professional who can actually examine your situation before relying on a number from this site.
Postpartum & Return-to-Running
If you are pregnant, recently gave birth, or are returning to running after pregnancy, please get medical clearance from your doctor or a pelvic-health professional before you start. Postpartum bodies need time to recover, and pelvic-floor and core readiness matter before impact exercise. Signs like leaking, a feeling of heaviness or bulging, or pain are reasons to stop and seek professional guidance. The Couch to 5K planner and other tools here are general references, not a return-to-running prescription tailored to your recovery.
How the Numbers Are Estimated
Each tool applies a widely used formula or reference to whatever figures you enter — elapsed-time-over-distance for pace, the MET method for calories, Riegel’s exponent for race prediction, a standard run/walk progression for Couch to 5K, and a load-scaled percentage for stroller pace. These are population-level approximations and general rules of thumb, not measurements of your specific body, effort, or conditions. Individual results vary with fitness, running economy, terrain, weather, and equipment.
Where a Result Might Not Fit You
A result is more likely to miss the mark if you are new to running, have an existing injury or medical condition, are early in postpartum recovery, or are running in conditions very different from the assumptions (steep hills, heat, a heavy pack). In any of these cases, treat the tool’s output as a starting point to discuss with a professional, not a final answer, and let your own effort and comfort lead.
Museum & Learn Content
Entries in the museum and learn sections are sourced from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons and presented largely as published there. JogMom doesn’t independently fact-check every claim in that source material, and Wikipedia entries can be incomplete, outdated, or edited after we pull them. Treat these sections as a starting point for further reading, not a verified reference.
Blog & Guides
Articles on the blogreflect general knowledge about running, training, and family fitness at the time they were written. Training advice that suits one runner may not suit another; always factor in your own health, experience, and any professional guidance you’ve received.
Third-Party Links & Ads
The site links to outside sites and displays third-party advertisements (including Google AdSense) and, on some pages, Amazon affiliate links (see the Affiliate Disclosure). We don’t vet, control, or endorse the content of external sites or the products advertised on them.
No Warranty, No Liability
Everything on JogMom is provided “as is,” without warranty of accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, JogMom isn’t liable for any decision made, or outcome experienced, as a result of using a calculator, following a plan, reading an article, or relying on museum or learn content.
